Sometimes I wish that I could jump out of my body and look and what my life is. It's weird to think about how we got to where we are now and what steps we will take towards out futures. Honestly, when I graduated high school, I NEVER thought I would be where I am today. Like Middle Eastern Studies, I wouldn't have dreamed of that then. I am in NO WAY unhappy with my choice and am in NO WAY unhappy with my plans for post-grad school... It's just not what I would have expected. Looking at the past always makes me think about the future... What if life doesn't turn out the way I thought it would? I know there will be bumps in the road, but what if I go in the complete wrong direction!! And then I get all anxious and freaked out...
LIFE IS SO CRAZY!
Other than my weird train of thought... School starts Wednesday. I get classes HOPEFULLY tomorrow rather than Tuesday. I am nervous. My social anxiety always gets me at the beginning of every semester. New instructors, new classrooms, new classmates, new criteria. But it's all part of doing what I do. I figured out today that I will be graduating in December 2011 instead of May 2011, but maybe that is for the better. I don't want to rush through my undergrad time.
Let's hope for straight A's this semester!

Sanity
So, this weekend, while tide-pooling in Laguna Beach, I met a lady. Now this was one of these people who want to have a conversation about their life story with every person they meet. None the less, this woman was very nice and very sweet. She told me about her love for the ocean and things her therapist said. I feel bad now because I tuned out about 75% of the things that she was saying, but there is one thing that she told me that just kind of totally made sense. She said that her therapist told her that as long as your feet are in the ocean or the sand or grass that you can't go crazy. She said that as long as you were connected with nature that you were grounded and at peace. And I know it sounds totally hippie status, but I feel like that's true. Because when I was at the beach, some how all the stresses just left (they're still gone). I just felt happy and perfect for where I was at that time. I wasn't thinking about bills, or class or homework or fights. I was just thinking about how perfect the sky was, how cool the water was. It's totally weird how sometimes you don't think about something until it is pointed out and even then it sounds cheesy.
